In a stressful economy, how can you reduce your fundraising stress while maximizing auction returns? This seminar will teach you how to get the right donors to attend your auction, avoid operational pitfalls, and streamline processes for maximum results.

In this seminar, Auctionpay Area Marketing Manager Kim Schrage, Darron Meares of Bowtie Benefit Auctions, and Christie King of C King Benefit Auctions will share the tips, tricks, and strategies learned at hundreds of benefit auctions with a format that includes lecture and group discussion. You'll also get some new approaches to help to stand out, survive - and even thrive - despite national economy woes.

At this seminar, you will learn how to stand out to thrive by:

  • Streamlining fundraising activities
  • Developing a clear and compelling message and reason for giving
  • Growing existing donor relationships

This seminar will also feature a case study from Auctionpay client Megan Cutts from Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Atlanta. In 2007 this nonprofit decided to add a fundraising event to their overall fundraising strategy. Despite having a very small planning and execution team, Megan delivered a successful first event by strictly adhering to best practices and strategically leveraging her Auctionpay solution. Megan will discuss her experience, her "do's and don'ts," and her plans for expanding fundraising activities in 2009.

Presenters

Darron Meares, MBA, CAI, MPPA, is a member of the National Auctioneers Association Board of Directors. He is currently serving a three-year term and is presently the Chairman of the Technology Committee. Meares also serves on the South Carolina Auctioneer Association Board of Directors and is the chairman of the Education committee; in addition, he is an auction school instructor with the Southeastern School of Auctioneering and teaches Continuing Education seminars across SC, NC and GA. He founded Bowtie Benefit Auctions in April 2008.

Christie King, CAI, BAS, AARE, C King Benefit Auctions is the founder and president of C King Benefit Auctions. She started her company in 2007 after working for more than 20 years in her family business, J. P. King Auction Company, where she still serves on the Board of Directors. After creating C King Benefit Auctions, Ms. King received her Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS) designation through the National Auctioneers Association, where she currently sits on the Board of Directors. She is licensed in nine states, where she works as broker for J. P. King and in a freelance capacity facilitating auctions.

Kim Schrage has worked with Auctionpay for six years, first as a client and then as an Area Marketing Manager. She started with Auctionpay solutions as a parent volunteer for her children's school auction in 2002, and was so impressed with the software and the company that she joined the Auctionpay team in 2005. Due to her commitment to area schools and nonprofits, Kim continues to volunteer to assist at a variety of fundraising events, honing her skills in using Auctionpay software to streamline event planning and execution and night-of-event check-in and check-out processes.
