Presenters:

Gretchen Carter is an Area Marketing Manager at Greater Giving. Prior to joining the company, she worked as an Event Coordinator for a private restaurant and club in Roanoke, TX, from 2000 to 2006. Gretchen is an active nonprofit volunteer and has participated in Metroport Meals on Wheels Annual Wine Dinner, Ft Worth Zoo's Beastro, and Safe Haven's Celebrity Chef event, among others. She is a member of the Greater Southlake Women's Society and is currently serving as their President. She also co-chaired a capital campaign to raise $1.7 million for a new mission building at the Southlake Blvd. Presbyterian Church. In addition to her success in traditional fundraising efforts, for the past two years, Gretchen has participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® three-day walk and leveraged peer-to-peer fundraising techniques to exceed her fundraising goals.

Christie King, CAI, AARE, BAS has over 24 years experience in the auction industry and is one of three principals of J. P. King Auction Company. As her primary focus is conducting benefit auctions, she established C King Benefit Auctions, serving clients in the Southeast U.S. King served as Chairman of the Alabama State Board of Auctioneers. She is also a past president of the Alabama Auctioneers Association, an Alabama Grand Champion Auctioneer, and was inducted into Alabama's Hall of Fame in 2007. Today she serves on the NAA's Executive Committee as Vice President and will become President in July of 2011. King has been an adjunct instructor at the Jacksonville University's Auction School since its' inception in 2005. She holds industry designations in the Certified Auctioneer Institute (CAI), Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS), and Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE).
