Reach More, Do More

The Web makes everything more accessible to more people. Use that capability to make your next event more successful! By adding a Web element to each event execution category, you can extend your reach, find new resources, and discover new ways to raise money for your cause.

  • Procure items
  • Sell more tickets
  • Find new donors
  • Drive more donations
  • Recruit and retain sponsors

Speakers:

Caitlin Smyke, Community Outreach and Special Events Coordinator, Atlanta Police Foundation, plans and executes five fundraising events per year to support the Foundation. Her efforts in 2010 generated nearly $400K in revenue. Caitlin also manages the overall Foundation's social media presence and builds online ticketing sites. Before joining the Foundation, she worked in sports marketing focused on client and event management. As a member of The Home Depot Racing's hospitality staff, she traveled the country to entertain clients and associates at NASCAR races. While working for ISP Sports (now a division of IMG) at the University of Georgia, Caitlin arranged events to promote one of college sports' most profitable programs.

Jenni Grammer, Special Events Program Manager, International Rett Syndrome Foundation (IRSF), raises over $2M yearly from regional fundraising events held across the U.S. Since IRSF's event fundraising is primarily event-driven, Jenni's focus is developing standard best practice for planning and executing fundraisers, and working with volunteers to ensure that best practices are followed to deliver optimal fundraising results. Jenni also manages every event's online presence and Web-based promotion to maximize registration and donations. Prior to joining IRSF in 2007, Jenni helped run Kent State University's Development Office fundraising call center.
