Finding Online Donors

11/10/2010 - Webinar

Driving Donations to the Web

Nonprofits get some great benefits when they drive online giving:

  • Online giving is cost-effective. It can cost you up to $1.25 to raise $1 with direct mail, and over $.63 to raise $1 by phone—but it costs around $.05 to raise $1 online.
  • On average, online gifts are higher than offline gifts. Online givers generally have higher incomes and online giving is naturally more impulsive.
  • Online donations are easier to accept and go to work for you faster. With online donations, you don't need to complete deposit slips and make a trip to the bank, since funds are deposited directly to your bank account.

In this webinar, two very successful online fundraisers, Maumee Valley Country Day School and Food Lifeline, will describe how they drive existing donors to give online, and how they solicit new online donors.

Speakers:

Jeniece Corwin, Associate Director of Advancement Operations, Maumee Valley Country Day School, is responsible for administration of the School's fundraising activities and communication with the School's numerous constituents. After her arrival at the School in 2008, she formulated and championed its online fundraising strategy, driving online donations totaling over $1 million. Prior to joining the School, Jeniece was the key administrator from 1996 to 2008 for the development officer team at the Toledo Museum of Art, managing the Museum's donor management system, donation processing and reporting, and learning best practices for online fundraising.

Carla Englander, Donor Services Manager, Food Lifeline, has been with Food Lifeline since 2005. Her prior positions at the organization included Special Events Coordinator and Information Systems Analyst. Since 2007, Carla's data management and online promotional work has doubled Food Lifeline's Website traffic and nearly tripled online donations. Carla holds a Master of Science in Information Management from the University of Washington, where she was the winner of the 2010 Archer Award. Prior to joining Food Lifeline she was a Senior Research Analyst with a boutique financial services company.
