Peer-to-Peer Fundraising

04/27/2011 - Webinar

A-thons and More

Peer-to-peer fundraising enables your supporters to raise money for your cause- with minimal fundraising work for you. But many organizaions believe that a) driving a-thon participants to raise funds requires more work and time than planning and executing a gala fundraiser and b) peer-to-peer fundraising only works well when driven by an a-thon.

Good news item one: Driving participants to raise money is the easiest element to holding an a-thon. And supporters don't have to participate in the a-thon activity to raise money for your cause.

Good news item two: The alternatives to holding an a-thon to leverage peer-to-peer fundraising are only limited by your imagination- you just need to follow a few simple rules.

At this webinar, you'll learn how Austin Habitat for Humanity repeatedly puts new spins on peer-to-peer fundraising to make each campaign fresh and appealing to supporters and donors. And we'll share peer-to-peer fundraising best practice and examples from Greater Giving clients who've planned and executed successful campaigns- some using a-thons and some using ingenious alternatives.

Speaker:

Stephen Mills, Community Outreach Coordinator, Austin Habitat for Humanity, joined the organization in 2009 as a construction crew leader in Pensacola, FL. His organizational skills and ability to energize groups at the grassroots level enabled him to move quickly into his current role in Austin. Since joining the Austin-based organization in 2010, Stephen has leveraged social media to double the organization's following, implemented a new sponsor communication system, and created several revenue-generating donation challenges using social media, and obtained over $300K in grant funding.
