Assimilating Fundraising into the Mission
11/30/2011 - Webinar
Connecting the Dots for Increased Revenue
For some nonprofits, fundraising is an activity considered separate from the everyday tasks that contribute to fulfilling the organizational mission. However, the most successful and vibrant nonprofits have blended fundraising into every activity.
When fundraising and mission execution are truly integrated, both efforts become easier. Each effort enhances the other. Every resource is utilized to the fullest. Fundraising becomes part of your organizational culture, not the result of a specific, strenuous effort—it becomes easier to sustain when you stop trying so hard.
At this webinar, you will learn:
- Tips to integrate online and event-based fundraising
- How to enhance your website to drive more giving
- How operational transparency drives giving
- How to create a heritage of giving
Speakers
Carmen Chan, Development Director, Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC), has been with the nonprofit since 2002, driving development and communication efforts. Before joining BCNC, Carmen was director of fundraising at Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation, executive director of the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence, and director of development and marketing for the Boston Women's Fund. Carmen is active in the Asian community, including serving on the Board of the Chinese Historical Society of New England and a member of the Asian American Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy. Tobin Soo Hoo, Director of Finance and Administration, Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC), joined the organization in 2009. Coming to BCNC was a reunion of sorts for Tobin and the organization, as he is a former constituent who as a teenager in urban Boston benefitted from programs offered by BCNC to inner city youth. Before joining BCNC, Tobin's experience as Controller and Accounting Manager spans over 25 years in the manufacturing, distribution, travel and financial services industries. He holds a B.A. in Accounting from Boston College.
