Auctionpay Reaches $500 Million Processing Milestone for Nonprofit Causes
01/30/2007
Portland, Ore. - January 30, 2007 - Auctionpay, a leader in fundraising software and service solutions for the nonprofit community, today announced it has processed over $500 million in donations for its nonprofit clients’ causes since its founding in 2002. Of this, $212 million was processed in 2006 alone. The company also announced that its customer base has grown to 5,500 nonprofit organizations and schools.
"Nonprofit leaders are feeling increased pressure to achieve greater efficiencies, better performance measures and methods to raise funds in a more sophisticated fashion," said Steve Sterba, Auctionpay CEO and president. "While nonprofits traditionally have lagged behind the commercial sector in technology adoption, there is a growing indication that technology acceptance in nonprofits is at a key inflection point. Auctionpay is leading the way in shifting this trend by providing technology solutions to help them raise more money at their live, in-person auction events, as well as with online fundraising, or ePhilanthropy."
"Auctionpay is a great example of how technology really can make the world a better place by making it easier for people to give," said Chris Onan, a Principal with Appian Ventures, a recent investor of Auctionpay. "Auctionpay’s technology is easy to use and delivers material value to nonprofits and schools. And behind the technology, is a dedicated team of employees committed to helping their clients raise these much-needed funds."
Auctionpay’s original product is an innovative solution for processing credit cards at auction events. This first-of-its-kind, proprietary system substantially reduces the administrative overhead associated with an event and improves the experience for donors, guests and staff. The company developed a web-based online registration and donation product in 2003. In early 2005, Auctionpay extended its product line further with event management software that streamlines and automates planning and administration of benefit auctions. Together, these products comprise the Complete Event Suite, and make Auctionpay the leader in the benefit event market segment. In 2006, the company expanded its solution to include Auction Booster, offering exciting travel packages for sale at online and live benefit events, a hosted online auction system and software bridges to integrate with leading donor managements systems.
