On September 28th, 2009, Auctionpay became a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Payments Inc. (NYSE: GPN), a leading provider of electronic payment processing services, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Global Payments processes billions of credit, debit, check, and ecommerce transactions annually for over one million merchant locations worldwide. Auctionpay will operate as a division of Global Payments with no change in our business relationship with you. We will maintain our headquarters in Portland, Oregon, and all of our employees will continue to serve you as part of our corporate family.
Auctionpay will continue our mission of helping nonprofits raise more money for their respective causes—and, because of our new relationship, we are in a stronger position to expand our business to better serve you. Global Payments shares our philanthropic vision and will enable us to accelerate development of new fundraising software products integrated with payment services. We will also be able to invest more time in analyzing market trends to drive new product and services—enabling you to be ahead of the fundraising curve, growing your giving community for many years to come. In addition, we’ll be able to leverage Global’s capital structure and worldwide operations to expand into new geographies and additional markets.
Since our founding in 2002, we have enjoyed great success as a privately-held, ventured-backed company serving the nonprofit and school community. We provide products and services to improve the fundraising success of over 6,000 clients. Today’s announcement is great news for our clients, our partners, and our employees as we look forward to expanding Auctionpay’s industry leading products and thought leadership with the support of our new parent, Global Payments Inc. We are excited and inspired by this new relationship and our combined commitment to continue serving our clients and partners.
