Can I exchange the data between Event Software Online and our donor management software?
Event Software Online provides an import/export tool that makes it easy to move essential data between Event Software Online and donor management software, while avoiding duplicate data entry and the errors that can occur in manual data handling. The exchange of gift information includes key event information to the donor management software, while the more detailed event information history remains in Event Software Online. For detailed information on how the process works, click here and select Data exchange guide from the list.

Data Entry
How do I remove supporter records from the supporter grid?
Keep in mind that the supporter grid shows all of your contacts from all events. Do not delete supporter records if they are not attending your event. Simply just do not add them as a bidder, donor or staff for that event. That way, if they attend any subsequent event, you won't have to add them again and you will still have all of their participation history from previous events. You can narrow down the results of the supporter grid to view only bidders, for example, for that auction by clicking on the advanced query option.
Can I make modifications to my data on the PC Edition as well as in the Greater Giving Event Software Online Edition?
It is highly recommended that you finish all of your work in the Greater Giving Event Software Online Edition before you download to the PC Edition and that you do not edit in the PC Edition and the Online Edition concurrently. Once the event is downloaded to the PC, make all edits there, take it to the event, complete the recording of the event results and then upload the event to Event Software Online.
When I make changes on my event website why don’t I see the changes?
When you make changes to the style of the published event website (i.e. change colors) or you add or modify the image used on the published event website, it might take up to 10 minutes before those changes are actually visible on the pages.
I have found many duplicate supporter records. How do I de-dupe them?
Currently there are two main methods of de-duping your supporter records. You can merge two supporters if you are working from the supporter grid and wish to combine data from two records. You can also utilize our de-duping utility that will scan the database for potential duplicates and allow you to merge them. For step-by-step instructions refer to the online help guide.

Where did my Letter and Email functionality go?
Your letter and email functionality is no longer found under project tasks on your project home screen. Managing letters and emails is now done from the Organization level of your account. This can be reached by navigating to the Project drop down menu and then selecting Organization Home. You will still be able to access your letters and emails from the supporter grid within whichever project you are working in as well.
Beginning with version 5.0, the PC installed software will no longer have letter functionality. This will be an online only feature.
Can I create letters and mailings in the Greater Giving Event Software PC Edition and synchronize them to my Greater Giving Event Software Online Edition?
Our software does not allow you to synchronize letters between the PC and Online Editions of the event software. To migrate your letters to the Greater Giving Event Software Online Edition, you will need to copy and paste the text and replace any merge fields with the new merge field options in Event Software Online.
What data can I export from my Greater Giving Event Software Online Edition?
Data can be exported from the following areas of the Greater Giving Event Software Online Edition: Items, Item Types, Supporters and Packages. To export data, first navigate to one of the grids mentioned above. If you want to export only certain items in a grid, either check only those records or use an advanced query to limit the number of records that appear on the grid. Next, click Export. Choose whether you want your file to export to .csv or .xls format. Note: Either format can be opened using the Microsoft Excel product. Once you have chosen a desired format, click Next. Auction Night
Can I use the Greater Giving Event Software Online Edition at my event?
We strongly recommend using the PC installed verrsion of the software at your event for two main reasons.
The first reason is speed. The PC installed version is streamlined to allow you the quickest data entry possible during your event. In ESO your data entry speed is limited by a variety of factors related to your internet connection.
The second reason is the ability to connect Card Readers or Terminals to your database. You are NOT able to connect the Card Readers or Terminals to ESO. This equipment can only be connected to the PC installed version.
With these exceptions, you can technically use ESO for data entry at your event.
Can I synchronize the Auctionpay terminals with the Greater Giving Event Software Online Edition?
No, you are unable to synchronize your Auctionpay terminals with the Greater Giving Event Software Online Edition. All syncing needs to be completed on the PC Edition.
